Robert R. Keefer died on October 17 at the age of 95. He was a longtime resident of Pleasantville and Mount Kisco. He attended the original St. Thomas School in Pleasantville and St. Mary’s High School in Katonah. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army/Air Force during World War II in the Pacific Theater where he participated in the Battle of Saipan. Back home, Bob worked at the Mount Pleasant Ice Cream in Thornwood and later at Reader’s Digest as plant engineer until retiring. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and reader. Bob Keefer is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Mary; his brother, Anthony, and two sisters, Mary and Elizabeth Anne; his daughters Pamela and Mary; his son Kelly and their spouses; six wonderful grandchildren and two great grandsons. Bob will be greatly missed by all his family and his many friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 – 7 PM at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home in Pleasantville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at Holy Innocents R.C. Church in Pleasantville. The interment will immediately follow mass at All Souls Cemetery.
