Gene Daniel Donovan of Pompton Plains, NJ died February 14, 2014. Devoted son of Margaret (nee Hayes) and Daniel Donovan. Born and raised in Manhattan, and lived there before moving to Montvale, NJ in 1979 with his wife and two young daughters. Gene was a U. S. Army veteran, who proudly served his country. He was a graduate of Iona College and worked for The Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Noreen (nee O’Sullivan) Donovan of Pompton Plains, his children, Carleen and her husband Athanasios Maroulis, Laurie and husband Deron Blair, and delightful grandson Donovan Richard Blair. Gene had a treasured passion for antiques, history and music, all of which are shared by his family.
