Laura DiMichele of Ossining, formerly of Thornwood, NY passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016. She was 93. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Hugo in 2004. She is survived by her sister Grace Schinella; her loving children, daughter Lisa and her husband Steve Staskiewicz, son Eric, and daughter Mary Ellen and her husband Lloyd Van Syckle; her cherished grandsons, Keith and his wife Lauren and Scott.
Laura graduated from Pratt Institute with a degree in Fashion Design. After an early career in fashion design, she became Personnel Director for Macy’s and Bergdorf Goodman. She was Expediting Manager for Commerce Overseas Corporation in Elmsford, NY. Laura was an active member of St. Theresa’s Church in Briarcliff Manor, NY. She was an avid golfer and tennis player. She enjoyed spending winters in Naples, Florida with family and friends. Laura had a zest for life that was unparalleled.
The family will receive friends Monday April 18, from 1PM – 5PM and 7PM – 9PM at the Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc. 418 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, NY 10570 www.beecherflooksfh.com. A mass of the Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, April 19 at 10 AM St. Theresa’s R.C. Church, 1394 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. 10510. An interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
