With full hearts, we share the news of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend Donald Michael Lunetta, Sr.’s death on Friday, July 15, 2016. Don died at home, surrounded by his loving family. We are grateful that his struggle with brain cancer has ended and that he is now at peace.
Don will always be remembered for his kindness, wonderful sense of humor, love of nature and science, and as an honest and good man. Please read below for the story of his life.
Don is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 56 years, Loretta-Jo Lunetta of Chappaqua, NY; his brother Dennis and wife Hazel of Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law Sharon Lunetta of Sacramento, CA; (he was predeceased by his eldest brother Stanley Lunetta); his beloved children Roslyn Lunetta of Clinton Corners, NY; Matthew Lunetta and wife Chenoa Dovon of Anchorage, AK; Samuel Lunetta and wife Bonnie Bisgeier of Manhattan, NY; Celeste Lunetta and husband Don Crooker of Francestown, NH; Donald Lunetta Jr. of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren Meiko Lunetta of Chappaqua, NY; Silas Lunetta of Portland, ME; Evan Lunetta of Amherst MA; Rosemary Jo Lunetta Crooker of Francestown, NH, and several nieces, nephews and valued friends.
Please join us at a celebration of Dons life, which will be held on Sunday, August 14 at Teatown Lake Reservation; 11:30 - 2:00. The service will be at Noon, with light fare and socializing afterwards. Teatown Lake Reservation is located at 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining NY, 10562.
