Obituary for Ann Wray

Ann Wray passed away on January 1, 2021, instructing us not to cry as she would finally be reunited with her beloved husband, David.
Ann was born on April 8, 1927 in New York City. A graduate of NYU, she married Dave on September 4, 1947. Theirs was a wonderful marriage, complete with good friends and trips to exotic locations. They slept in yurts in China, traveled down the Nile and explored the caves of Cappadocia, Turkey. Many happy days were spent at their much-loved Vermont house.
Ann was a caring, generous, and strong-willed woman who made the most of the life she was given. She met adversity in her older years with humor and grace. She was the consummate wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. But she was also a pioneer – a working woman who meaningfully touched many young lives in her years as a kindergarten teacher in Somers, New York.
And finally, Ann was the family poet, composing endless versions of roses are red, violets are blue verses to mark every occasion.
Ann is survived by her brother, Ron Stahl and his family; her three children, Vicki, Larry and Susan; her son-in law, Ron Jaco; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and her adored dog, Rudy 2.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vermont Food Bank (https://www.vtfoodbank.org/).
