Obituary for Carol Laura Fox

Carol Laura Fox passed away in her sleep on February 1, 2023 after a protracted battle with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. Her passing was peaceful and the family is so grateful for that blessing.

Carol was a member of the Fox family of Fox & Sutherland, a store that was a longtime mainstay on S. Moger Avenue in Mt. Kiso, NY. She was predeceased by her parents, Kalman Fox and Audrey Sorenson Fox. She is survived by her brother Andrew, his wife Maureen, and their sons Peter and Tim.

Carol had a life-long passion for art and earned her B.A. from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. She was a talented artist whose favorite medium was painting, though she was thrilled to experiment with anything artistic; calligraphy, pottery, sculpting, quilting, and knitting. She was musical as well, teaching herself the clarinet, oboe, guitar, recorder and ukulele for her own enjoyment.

Carol had a large group of friends from all walks of life. Her ability to listen, support with in-sight and humor gave her strength and strengthened her friendships. Her loss is truly and deeply felt.

Her funeral service will be on Saturday February 11th at 1:00 pm. in Pleasantville at the Beecher Flooks Funeral home, 418 Bedford Rd, Pleasantville, NY 10570.

The internment will be a, private, family celebration of Carol’s life later in the spring.

The family asks that donations be made to NAMI, The National Alliance of the Mentally Ill in memory of Carol Fox. Donations can be made at https://www.nami.org › About-NAMI › Donate-to-NAMI
