Obituary for Edward James O'Reilly

Edward James (Jim) O’Reilly, 91 of Duluth, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 after a brief illness.
He was born in the Bronx to the late James and Elizabeth O’Reilly. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Patricia Ann O’Reilly.
He is survived by 6 children, Kathleen (David) Bolton of Shavertown, PA, Patricia (William) Abraham of Monument, CO, Joanne (Hugh) Mohan of Cincinnati, OH, James (Denise) O’Reilly of Suwanee, GA, Thomas (Andrea) O’Reilly of Hollis, NH, Edward (Kathryn) O’Reilly of Hingham, MA; 16 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren.
Jim was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School in New York City. He graduated from Fort Schuyler Maritime College in 1950 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering.
Jim started his career at Westinghouse. He then worked as Sales Manager/Sales Engineer selling electrical distribution equipment for ITE, Siemens Allis, NEPA and retired from Control Power.
Jim and his wife Pat spent 37 years raising their family in Suffern, NY. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and was a lector and member of the Knight’s of Columbus.
Upon retirement, Jim and Pat enjoyed building their beautiful home on Lake Ashuelot, NH. After many fun years on the Lake they then moved to Hollis, NH for 2 years and then to Sun City, Bluffton, SC for 12 years. They then moved to Georgia to be near family.
Jim had a love for wood working, building ship models and collecting antiques. Refurbishing and collecting antique clocks was his passion.
Jim, known as Dad, Grandpa and Grandpa “Tic Toc” was the most loving and caring man anyone could know. Family and friends were the most important thing in his life. Time with Jim was time well spent. As Jim would say, “One day at a time”. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home in Pleasantville, New York on June 14, 2021. There will be a visitation from 9:00 am to 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Pleasantville, New York.
