Frances Ellen Deutsch, 85, of Greenwich, CT, passed away on November 26th in Greenwich, CT. She had been fighting multiple illnesses since June of this year. Her family is at peace knowing that her suffering has come to an end.
Frances was born in New York City to Arnold and Janet Wallack on September 7, 1936. After graduating from Flushing High School in 1954, she went on to college at Cortland State Teachers College and then Queens College, earning a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
Frances met the love of her life, Bill, in the fourth grade, at PS 22 in Flushing, NY. She commented to her mother, after meeting Bill, that she would marry him one day. They had three children, Stephen, Peter, and Susan.
Fran enjoyed tending to her husband Bill, their three children and seven grandchildren. She loved gardening, landscape design, interior design, collecting artwork, planning and hosting parties, helping others less fortunate and was civic minded. She enjoyed fine dining and travel and her favorite time of year was the holidays, where she and Bill would get the entire family together on a Caribbean Island for a grand vacation.
Frances is survived by her husband of 63 years Bill, son Stephen (Gretchen) of Huntersville, NC, son Peter of Old Greenwich, CT, daughter Susan (Torben) of Riverside, CT, and seven grandchildren: Alexander, Rebecca (Ryan), Scottie, Julia, Natasha, Alexandra, and Carsten.
A memorial service to celebrate Fran’s life will be held at Temple Beth El, 220 South Bedford Road, Chappaqua, NY on Sunday, November 28th, at 10:00 am, with burial to follow at Sharon Gardens in Valhalla, NY. The memorial service will also be live streamed at https://www.bethelnw.org/live_stream
