I treated Mr. Haetinger as his dental hygienist and then his dentist. He always brightened my day! I was able to surprise him many years ago on his 80th birthday. That small gesture of happiness and appreciation came back to me tenfold with his smile every time he came in for his appointments. He had so many good stories of his life experiences. I will truly miss him. Dr. Nina Capretta

As the school crossing guard at the Pleasantville library, Fred was a (my) life saver. When I was at my post and Fred was on the road, he clearly had respect for pedestrians. He slowed down! All you need is one person to drive cautiously and the cars behind you cannot speed. Thank you Fred for making my dangerous, difficult job easier. God Bless Fred!

I had the honor of working with Fred for years on the Pleasantville Safety Committee. I will miss his warm greeting, bright smile, and his willingness to share his knowledge and talents in any way needed. So many of his plans are evident throughout the Village. He was a gentleman and a scholar. He will always have a place in my heart! Rest In Peace my friend.

To the family of Fred. Iam at a loss for words concerning Fred’s passing. I worked with Fred for over 30 years in my capacity as Pleasantvilles building inspector and throughout this period Fred developed countless solutions to all the Villages engineering problems and I named this file of amazing solutions the “Freddy File “ which is still part of the building departments record file. I’ll miss him with all my heart

Fred was a talented and graceful gentleman who devoted time and his talents for the betterment of the community. As mayor of Pleasantville, I had the privilege of working with him and the benefit of his expertise which he volunteers to help the village on numerous occasions. John Nonna
