Helen Bernarducci passed peacefully at Phelps Memorial Hospital on May 13, 2020 after celebrating her 95th birthday on May 5th. Helen was a resident at Victoria Home in Ossining for the past five years. Her family is extremely grateful for the excellent care she received there.

Helen was born in Yonkers, NY in 1925 where she grew up with her parents Jessie and Robert Symington, her sister Jessie, and her brother William.

On November 25, 1950 Helen married Rocco Bernarducci of White Plains, NY. Rocco was a decorated WWII veteran who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. Rocco and Helen lived in Hastings-on-Hudson happily for sixty-one years, raising their loving family and entertaining their many good friends. Helen worked in the office of Hastings High School. She was an avid reader and accomplished gardener. Helen survived her dedicated husband who passed in 1999.

Helen belonged to the Hastings Women’s Club and the Hastings Historical Society. She volunteered at the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers. Helen was an active member of the First Reformed Episcopal Church in Hastings-on-Hudson. She served as a Matron of the Mt. Shasta Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star where she enjoyed the fellowship of her many friends.

Helen is survived by her two devoted children, Robert and Janet. Robert and his wife Mary Ann, residents of Pleasantville, have three children; Brian, Kevin and Lauren. The grandchildren graced Helen and Rocco with endless joy. Their affection and pride for the kids was limitless and reciprocated with tender love and respect. Janet is a registered nurse married to Hugh Scully. They reside in Hawthorne, NY.

Helen will be laid to rest at Mt Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson. Her memory will live on in the hearts and lives of her family who love her dearly.
