Kathleen Brooks Makrakis was a caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She broke her earthly bond son April 1st,2021,at the age of 69. Kathy was born on March 11th, 1952 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco NY.She was raised by loving parents, Albert and Evelyn Brooks,in Pleasantville NY with her five siblings.After graduating Pleasantville High School in 1970,she worked her way through college at a pizzeria to ultimately earn her master’s degree at Pace University and became a CPA. She later gave birth to two children,then went on to head investor relations teams for several companies.She resided in several places over the years including Port Chester NY, Mount Kisco NY, Pound Ridge NY, and Stamford CT.Kathy loved animals.She rescued several dogs over the years including Checkers, Shiloh,and Shelby.She would take long bicycle rides through the wilderness of Pound Ridge and enjoyed hiking groups as well.Skilled in cooking,she made a delicious prime rib with stuffed potatoes for the holidays that many looked forward to. Seafood was one of her favorite foods as she thoroughly enjoyed lobster, crab, mussels,and New England clam chowder.Kathy had a plethora of interests including books, movies,music,fitness, and travel.Some of her most frequented destinations were Greece, Rhode Island, and Cape Cod.Kathy is survived by her children, Alex and Christina, her grandson Antonio Noel, and her five siblings Judy, Marilyn, Karin, John,and Charles.There is a visitation scheduled at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home on Saturday April 17that 10AM followed by a memorial mass at noon at Holy Innocents Church(Pleasantville NY). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Mount Pleasant Public Library, 350 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, NY 10570.
