Obituary for Lisa Marie Goddard
Lisa was born in Sacramento, California in 1966. After earning her Ph.D. in 1995, Lisa became a researcher, and later director, at the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) and a Columbia University professor. At IRI Lisa led research directed at understanding and predicting near-term climate change and became a globally recognized climate prediction expert.
Lisa was also devoted to her family and friends. On January 13, 2022, Lisa’s courageous 5 year battle with cancer came to an end. She is survived by her husband, David Cooperberg; sons Samuel and Matthew; sister Kristina Zimmerman; mother Marie Betts; as well as her cherished dog Chewy.

Lisa's funeral will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
11:30 am service at, Beecher Flooks Funeral Home 418 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, NY 10570. Followed by burial at, Kensico Cemetery 273 Lakeview Ave, Valhalla, NY 10595.
