Obituary for Michael Colavito
Michael Colavito of Chappaqua NY passed away on Tuesday June 21, 2022.
Born in November of 1948 to Frank and Evelyn (Barone) Colavito. As a kid he worked on his father’s oil truck, delivering oil throughout the neighborhood.
After graduating from Dobbs Ferry High School he attended Westchester Community College where he met the love his life Catherine (Reckerdres). They married in 1974. Mike worked as a civil engineer in Armonk for many years.
Mike was an avid follower of Formula One car racing. He loved nature and the outdoors. But mostly he loved being with his family.
He is survived by his wife Cathy (Reckerdres), daughters Tracy and Sierra (Brett Townsend), sons Douglas and Craig, grandchildren Ralph and Maggie Townsend, and sister Doreen (Michael) Maers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday June 26, 2022 from 2-5pm at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday June 27, 2022 at 10am at St. John and St Mary’s Upper Church in Chappaqua NY.
