Obituary for Nicholas J. Casadone

Nicholas J. Casadone

Look out heaven! Here comes the Penguin! Nicholas John Casadone Sr., a lifelong resident of Irvington, NY, (until moving to Pleasantville three years ago), passed away at home surrounded by his wife Susan and sons Nick Jr., Bill and Mike. Known to all since high school as the Penguin for his distinctive gait he will be as much a presence in the hereafter as he was in the “Grill” during his younger days and later while holding court in Kenny Zarrilli’s deli, or in the Village Highway garage. He always had an opinion and spoke it so everyone knew where he stood on issues. He didn’t apologize for his positions but he knew not everyone agreed with him and for him that was their prerogative, and their right, even if in his opinion they were wrong!
Nick leaves behind his wife Susan Jentzsch Casadone who he married 48 years ago. Together they raised their three sons in the same house he grew up in. IF THOSE WALLS COULD TALK! He was predeceased by his parents Nick and Margaret Connick Casadone and his brother Donald.
He wasn’t afraid to move on and leave the suffering behind and found peace looking forward to his heavenly reunion with the many wonderful friends he lost over the years. If there are docks along Heavens Hudson River you will find him there, in the evening, sitting on his motorcycle without a care, with Ali, Bip and Buddha and Richie and Eddie and so many who went before him.
Nick did not want any services but he did say that if anyone wanted to remember him the best way to do that would be with a donation to St. Judes, or Wounded Warrior Project or the local animal shelter.
