Robert, “Bobby," C. Trimpe passed away peacefully in his sleep on Christmas Day 2020. Bobby, aged 91, was born in Mount Vernon, New York on March 22, 1929. It was there that he married his sweetheart and devoted wife of 66 years, Janet Trimpe in September of 1954. In 1963 they moved to Thornwood New York, where they created a loving and enduring home. A home that played host to every Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthday, and graduation celebration for their large and growing family, and remains filled with love, warmth, and lasting memories that Bobby can be proud of.
A dedicated member of his community, Bobby served in the U.S. Army, was a parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a member of the Yorktown Diamond Thistle Lodge #555 in addition to serving the Westchester County Parkway Police. In 1990 he retired with honors from the force after 37 years of dedicated service.
Bobby is remembered by his family as a dedicated father and grandfather who always put the needs of others above his own. Bobby was soft-spoken, and forever let his actions speak louder than words. Bobby’s family hopes that those who knew him will remember his quick wit, his love for life, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. A teetotaler until the end, please raise a glass of milk with your favorite cookie or slice of cake, and crack a joke, as that’s how Bobby would have wanted us to celebrate his life.
Bobby is preceded in death by Adelaide and Frederick Trimpe.
He is survived by his devoted wife Janet Trimpe. His oldest Son Robert Trimpe and his wife Susan Croll of Lantana, Florida. Daughter Bonnie O’Sullivan and her husband Jim O’Sullivan of Newtown, Connecticut. And youngest son Eric Trimpe of Thornwood, New York. As well as two loving granddaughters, Kelly and Scarlett O’Sullivan. Bobby’s family will always remember him as a strong patriarch, and a man who would give his shirt for a friend.
