Obituary for Stanley S. Traymore Jr.

Stan ‘the Man’ Traymore a/k/a Coach passed away peacefully with his family present this past Wednesday. He was a deeply loving, caring, supportive, and proud father to Bonnie and Anthony and grandfather (Papi) to Erica, Gannon and Neave. Born on Christmas Eve and leaving us on Ash Wednesday, Stan always had a flair for making an entrance and an exit. He was born December 24, 1935 in Patterson, NJ, son of Emma and Stanley and grew up in Fair Lawn, NJ. Early on, he showed exceptional athletic talent, focusing his passion on basketball. He was a first team all-state guard for Montclair Academy in NJ, scoring over 1,000 career points and twice breaking the school’s single game scoring record with a 40-point game and a 46-point game…without three pointers. He went on to play college ball at Syracuse and Gettysburg. After college, he graduated from Fordham Law School and practiced law in NJ for 30+ years. He also focused keenly on real estate development.
He was super sharp right until the end and one of the most generous and loyal people you’d ever meet—if you needed him, he was there. He went through life without judgment (so rare these days), recognizing the value in people from all walks of life. His most outstanding qualities were his charm, big heart, ease of conversation, and his sense of humor. A night out with Stan was always a time to remember. Each person he spent time with, family and friends had their ‘Stanley Stories’. If you knew him, remember your favorites, and have a good laugh in his honor. Rest in Peace Dad and make new Stanley Stories in Heaven.
We will be having a Celebration of Life Service in honor of Stan at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, 418 Bedford Rd, Pleasantville, NY 10570 on Thursday, March 10 from 4PM to 7PM. Please join us if you are available. All of our friends and family are welcome
