Obituary for Salvatore Fuschetto
Salvatore Fuschetto, Age 92, passed away on October 29, weeks before his 93rd birthday. Salvatore was born on November 22, 1922 in Sant'angelo dei Lombardi, Italy. He was a devoted Husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, of 67 years Grazia, 2 sisters, Lina & Donnatella, 3 children Maria, Vincenzo and Rosa, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Salvatore was a man of pride and dedication. He served in the Italian army during WWII and was a Prisoner of War for 2 years prior to being rescued by the US army, for which he was forever grateful. His admiration for America inspired him to move to New York in 1971. Before settling in America he spent time living in Australia, Switzerland. He had a great passion for cultivating the land, taking great pride in his garden, which he worked side by side with his wife tending to various vegetables and giant fig trees. He was also a pillar of the community, frequently walking to Rose Hill shopping center where he loved to talk to as many people as possible. He will be remembered as a man with honor and dignity, always true to his morals and values.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00- 9:00 PM at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc.,Pleasantville, NY. Mass of Christian burial is Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus in Valhalla at 10AM. Entombment at The Gates Of Heaven.
