Obituary for
Jonathan E. Resnick
Resnick, Jonathan - - age 59, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on September 28 due to complications from the sudden onset of septic shock. Jon loved expansively without reservation or condition. He was generous without expectation of return or reciprocity, gliding through life with joy and optimism and forging close relationships with so many - kids, adults, and business colleagues. He embraced the random encounter and was ever eager to strike up conversation, inevitably leaving a lasting impression. And for his precious family and multitude of friends, Jon strived to be completely present. Always. He showed up. Always. Born in New York and raised in the Usonia cooperative in Pleasantville, Jon attended Byram Hills High School and Brown University, where he played on the soccer team. After working as an assignments and then political editor at WBZ-TV in Boston, he helped start up CNBC as the first news editor, and then joined his father at Barbizon Lighting, which he built into one of the largest lighting and rigging supply companies in the world. Jon was an esteemed congregant of Temple Beth El and cherished member ofthe Chappaqua community where he coached boys and girls soccer for nearly two decades.
Jon is survived by his beloved wife, Sue, the children he adored, Zach, Gabby and Sam, his dear sisters, Johanna, Leslie, and Maxanne, and many precious nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brown Sports Foundation.
